My approach to weddings is that I want to make sure you are comfortable and are having fun, and that your personalities and love for each other is radiated in the photos I take. During the ceremony I will be in the background capturing all the little and big moments, and during the couple sessions I like to leave you together for a few minutes to be with each other and feel relaxed. I don't want you to feel like your wedding was a massive photoshoot all day, but rather a whole bunch of epic memories that you can look back on for the rest of your lives. My editing style is generally bright and warm, with the occasional moody image ;)

I am based in Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, but often travel to other cities in the North (or even South!) Island as well as other countries, so if you are wanting me to come to you, that option is there!
-
I mainly photograph weddings, engagements and families, and can also do solo or couple portraits and commercial shoots.

Simply get in touch via phone or email! We decide on a date together and book it from there. If the weather is bad we can always reschedule or find an indoor venue. Payments for family sessions are required to be paid either before the session or within 3 business days after the shoot.
-
Of course! Meeting with me before you make your decision really helps to see whether you feel comfortable with my personality and photography style. If you live further away I am happy to have a video or pone chat, but if you live closer I can meet you in a cafe or wherever suits you.

Generally during the summer months (peak wedding season) ceremonies are held between 2-4pm so depending on the duration of the ceremony and any photos afterwards, the bridal photos tend to be taken any time between 4-6pm. The "golden" hour during summer is usually around 7.30-8pm and if you're in luck with the sun then we can sneak out of your reception to take some epic sunset photos!

I have photographed quite a number of weddings in the rain now and it hasn't been a problem at all. We just take umbrellas and improvise, and the results are usually awesome! For family sessions we usually reschedule or find an indoor venue.
-
Only when I am photographing your reception would I really appreciate dinner, as I am on my feet all day long and don't want to end up collapsing ;)
-
I have a Canon 5D Mark III and I usually use a Sigma 50mm lens as well as a Canon 70-200m lens. I use an external flash if needed, but usually make use of natural light.
